Anyone else no longer getting traffic notifications?

I have the latest of both mapsets installed on the 3790.

Whilst using the CN map yesterday I was delayed for just under 20 mins on the N1 North (Fourways/Rivonia area). No warning/notification was received on the device.

Is there now a need to activate the service on the unit? I have looked and cannot find anywhere that this can be achieved.

Garmin updated to the latest traffic information latest July. If the customer has not updated he will not receive the updated information. The customer will have to update their maps.

I am afraid that in future Altech Nedstar will only respond to queries submitted through Garmap/Garmin to them. Herewith an extract of their response to my email.

In order to ensure that the proper communication and support is afforded, it is with regret that Altech Netstar Traffic will no longer be assisting with any PND and SatNAV traffic queries unless supplied through correct supplier support channel.

Altech Nedstar sal nog steeds die forum monitor en kennis neem van wat hier geplaas word.
There are two elements that have to work in harmony to provide you with the traffic information. The signal that Altech send out and what the receiver does with the information its receives. Other factors may be firmware that has not been updated to accommodate changes in either the maps or signal received or maps sets that are not compatible with changes in either the firmware or signal. The above decision was taken to ensure that all parties are aware of a problem and work together to solve it as soon as posible. Altech Nedstar is serious in giving their subscribers the best posible service.

AndrewK mentioned his wife's 1410 also does not show traffic warnings. The randomness of the problem over various models may suggest that the firmware of the units giving problems may not be up to date. It may be worth checking for updates.
The sky/cloud cover should not have any influence as it depends on a FM radio RDS signal but the location of the receiver/aerial may well make a big difference.
