Nuvi 40 and Cyclops

#1574

Post by firebladeash69 »

HI all.
I bought a new Nuvi 40 as the old was not working anymore.
I downloaded and installed the 30 day trail version of Cyclops and tested it last night on the N3 highway but seems like it is not working. Does it detect possible speed camera's where cops are sitting with mobile camera's or not.

Hi firebladeash,

The Cyclops data is pretty much reliant on input from end users to determine where fixed and mobile cameras are. The GPSr itself has no means to detect possible locations of mobile or fixed cameras. To be truly up to date with all the road hazards (ie, cameras, police activity, dangerous roads etc), download the RHD data and the associated voice files (for better effects) for free from the forum. It still knocks the socks off of the Cyclops subscription stuff by a mile (unless someone has got Cyclops and can prove me wrong).
