Hi Revo Good to hear from you again. The last time I battled with a map update for a friend Roan Rossouw eventually helped me. I have not had contact with any one at Garmin for along time. Hopefully Roan is still there. I will PM you his contact details.

I uninstalled Garmin Express. Then downloaded the latest version 4.2.0.0, installed it as a normal user and it failed. Then installed it as an administrator - No Issue. It immediately recognized the Nuvi 3590 and am busy downloading the latest 2017.2 map. Looks therefore as if Garmin Express on my side was the cause.

Thanks for that info Revo that is nice to know. We often get queries regarding problems using Express. It is starting to make sense now. Trouble shooting internet access on my router Widows sometimes tell me ii could not identify the problem and suggest trying again running the program again a Administrator which usually solves the problem. That's why Shorty always called it a blikbrain. Will keep that solutions in mind for future reference.
