I presume that with the server being completely off line it will not be possible to have a notification displayed on the website informing those members that have not kept up to date with the development, that the move of the server is in progress.
Hi Jan and all forum members,

With reference to your last sentence there, that is correct with regards to not being able to display a notification of the server's relocation.

Hi all,

I think this picture says it all.

This is what the Google Bot was doing with all those visits to our forum server.

Hope this is encouraging.

The secret weapon behind our Google ranking

#816

Post by fugglefeet »

Hi all,

This is our secret weapon to the forum's ranking and it's something that is employed by popular sites to improve and increase their Google rankings:-
phpbb-seo.jpg
Basically what this software does is to optimise the forum for Google searching and allows Google to index all the forums, topics and posts on the forum for easier searching. The SEO part is what does it (Search Engine Optimization). The SEO software converts the forum into a human readable and searchable format that can then be indexed by Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask (and all other not so popular or pleasant search engines (fortunately we can control access by the not so nice ones)).

Hi Hennie,

These 2 pics say it all:-

Hope this helps. I can't answer why my upload speed is faster than my download speed though.
