Re: Garmin SA

Thanks Jan, Darryl and Dasilvarsa for comming back with some answers to a few of my questions. I must be careful not to attack Garmin. I still believe the best way to do your route planning is to do it on your PC and export it to your Gps. TomTom got a problem with that. Their is still a few things...

Re: The result of badly maintianed roads

Wow! Very fortunate to only have cuts and bruises after that! Glad your FIL is OK. Just last night I was looking at an advert in Bike SA for the "Bike Friendly" Memel Hotel. I was saying to my wife that next time we ride to JHB we should venture back on this road "because they must, b...

Re: JaVaWa GMTK

Good idea, Jan, I have a couple of older smaller memory sticks and I will see how much space is needed to transfer a backup of everything to do with Garmin.

Thanks

Re: JaVaWa GMTK

Hi Jan,

I used JaVaWa to transfer all my Garmin stuff from my XP PC to a new Windows 7 PC. It was a seamless transfer and everything just "worked" on the new PC. I would recommend this program.

Re: Thanks

I would like to welcome Trevor to the Forum and add my thanks to Darryl for helping solve a logon problem I had. I was going round in circles, unable to actually logon. In replying to an email I sent to Darryl he suggested that I delete all this forum's cookies and see what happens. Well it worked p...

Re: Toll Gantries avoidance with a Nuvi 3790

On a recent visit to Helderkruin area I spent some time defining the ring road (South and North loops and both directions) as Avoidances from the Alberton Intersection. I sent the route from my PC to the Zumo but must have forgotten to set the re-calculate to off because when we set off the next mor...

Re: 1:50 000 TOPO MAPS

Hi dasilvarsa,

Thanks, I have downloaded the TOPO map that you linked to. Now what do I do to use it? Is it an overlay over the normal navigator map or is it a standalone map.

Many thanks

Still no relief for motorcyclists! A trip up the N3 costs me, on my bike, the same as a large bakkie pulling a caravan with a boat trailer and motorcycle trailer behind...

Re: The actual server

Hi Darryl, Never seen a R200 note but tried (unsuccessfully) to submit comment on a 5c coin instead... I am always happy to hear of any measure to cut down on unproductive time on PC and still give us almost the same information like this static tag. Thanks for the continued attention to detail you ...
