If all else fails, come here as a last resort to "Let off Steam", but approach with care...

I still believe the best way to do your route planning is to do it on your PC and export it to your Gps. TomTom got a problem with that.
Their is still a few things of GSA that i don't like and force me to ask questions.
1) They took away Topo and Rec. All the farm numbers that i make use of is gone.
2) They replace Mapsource with BaseCamp. Mapsource worked much more better for me.
3) They replace Garmaps with CN maps. Garmaps looks better and are more accurate.
4) They replace Routes with Trips. One big mistake.
5) Try to talk to the technical dept. in Zeis Road Laserpark and the people told you they moved to a nother place.
6) Start a new webpage for the forum because???
7) Jan mentioned it: "Don't upgrade the maps, buy a newer model gps." Same story with printers, "Buy a new printer
instead of new cartidges.
Then the last thing: How long will it take for Google Maps to take over and...........?
For the past year i am doing my routing with Google maps, convert them with a small utillity program and export the maps
to my Gps's. Working like a dream with TomTom and Garmin.

Hi JohnJohn,

Well, everything you have written, I agree with fully - and I couldn't have said it better...

The problem I have is that my Zumo 660 is perfect for motorcycling and of course in car use as well. My son has the new 590 which replaces the 660 and it of course has even better equipped for motorcycle use. I don't think any other maker has the waterproof and shockproof (and even fuel proof :>) units to my knowledge. So we are locked in to Garmin.

For myself, I have sort of solved the problem by sticking to an old software update that works well and the same with old Garmap maps that also are 98% accurate (scientifically researched :>) for the area I am interested in anyway. Not sure what maps my son's Zumo 590 uses but he seems to be happy.
