To set your time display preference you need to go to User Control Panel > Board Preferences > last item on the list.
Here you can select a display to suit your tastes. I've just set mine to display in 24 Hour format.

Unfortunately I cannot make screen copies before tonight, but there is a drop down box on that screen that I referred to above.
Select the first one in that list as a start and check this afternoon after 13:00 what your time looks like.
