Mapsource and map software

I have recently been "relieved" of my laptop and bag, with all my goodies in it pertaining to CD's, mapset CD's, etc, etc, in short; my whole life was on that $#&% laptop!

Long story short....I now have only my Nuvi 710 and no longer have Mapsource on my PC to plan routes, etc...

My question is, where do I get, or download another copy of mapsource? Where do I get or download the streetmaps (I think I have 2010.3)....

Wynnand Welcome to the Forum I can mail you a copy of the last version of MapSource that was released. I have it in a zip file around 65mb. Alternatively it may still be available on the Garmin website although I doubt that. The problem with installing MapSource on a new computer is that it will tell you that there is no previous version available on your computer. To get around this you have to first install the training centre software of Gsarmin which will then allow you to install MapSource. The unlock code for the last map set you unlocked can be downloaded from the Garmap website it can be found from your registration details.

Another Method is to beg borrow or steal a copy of the 2010.3 DVD
Run Setup and it will install Mapsource and the Maps.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune about you being "relieved" of your laptop. Hopefully the forum members here will be of assistance with your problems.

Wynand if you want to go the DVD ay you will have to find the 2011.2 version from 2011.3 mapsource was discontinued and omitted from the DVD. I was not thinking when I offered to mail it to you at 55.5 mb it is too large to mail, and I think over the limit of what I can post for downloading here.
Checked maximum size is 12mb

If you are prompted for a username and password, use anonymous as username and your email address as password. In there is a folder called SA Streetmaps (for 2010.3). Download the folder to your Desktop or suitable location on your PC/Laptop. Hope this helps.

P.S. Please be patient, still busy uploading to the server. Bear in mind that the software that is uploaded to here is a direct copy from the DVD and contains no methods for bypassing licencing of the product.

Thanks for all the info. I managed to open the FTP in explorer, so do I simply copy and paste into a new folder on my PC, then run setup as normal?

Hi wynandd,

Copy and paste the folder to your desktop (or wherever you may choose to save the folder to) and run setup.exe from there. Hope this helps.
