3760LT in pedestrian mode

#1829

Post by Stalker »

How do I get the 3760 to point me to a location (POI) without the unit trying to route me along a road.?

i.e I'm in the bush and want to go directly to the POI with the unit showing me the distance to the POI.

Jan thanks but I've been through all those settings and the unit still takes me along a road instead of directly to the POI i.e. I need the unit to take a straight line to the poi and not first route me along a road until it reaches a point adjacent and then a straight line to the poi.

Brian I ran a test on both the Nuvi 200 and the Nuvi 52 both and both gave me a straight line to the Poi what I think what you want when set in "off road mode". The screen shot show the full screen but would normally display the distance and other data I set as my preference. The Nuvi 3760 should do the same.

Jan

no mine still routes me along the roads between the points and only when it reaches a point along the road nearest to the POi then does it go in a straight line to the POI

Och! Looking back to the image I posted of the users manual "Off Road Mode calculate point to point routes (without roads) " then one should expect to see what is shown in my screenshots of the 52. There must be some other setting upsetting the apple cart. When all else fail try a hard reset. It may reset all the settings and cause the unit to function as designed.

@Stalker

Set the unit to Car Mode and OFF Road

You are currently in Walking Mode.(Pedestrian Mode)

Pedestrian Mode ignores the "OFF ROAD" Setting.
My units do the same.
