Thanks all - Map Updater works. Seems that there is some sort of compatability problem Garmin Express?

There was a new update for Garmin express ( ver 2.4.4.0) released yesterday which may have cured the problem. Click on settings > Check for application updates to download and install.

I have just checked for an upgrade of Garmin Express and find that ver 2.5.2.0 is available now. Visually there does not appear to be much different.
I had however downloaded the new maps (2014.40) to both Nuvi and 2 PC's without a problem with the previous version of G E

Since the last post there has been a few updates for Garmin Express. The latest version is V3.0.7.0
