Ek hoop ek is die plek kan iemand my help, ek soek n website waar ek 2011.1 Non-NT street maps kan down load, ek gebruik dit op my E-trex legend C.

Hi Robert,

Ek het 'n bietjie ge-Google en niks gekry nie. Garmap het die files wat jy soek 'n ruk terug op hulle FTP server gehad en dit is lankal van daar verwyder. Ek kry nog ou posts op "ander" forums wat na dit verwys, maar dis omtrent al. Dit wat ek wel in my besit het, is die NT maps DVD vir hierdie spesifieke jaar/uitgawe wat jy soek en is nie die ware Jakob nie. Selfs op die DVD omslag verwys dit 'n persoon na Garmap se website vir die NoN-NT kaarte. Ek is nou spyt ek kan jou nie help nie.

Robert somewhere in the back of my mind I think I remember a post by Shorty in the Garmap Forum that the legacy Garmin models can use the NT map. You may have to reduce the number of tiles you install to keep the size down though. I have contacted Shorty to advice us on this one. Lets wait and see his response.

Ek het in tussen die SA Streetmaps 2011.1 NT weergawe op die forum se FTP server gelaai vir download. Hier is die link na die setup files in die folder:-

So nie, sal ek ook 'n copy van die DVD vir jou kan maak.

Hello Robert - Yes Jan is correct. I discovered quite by accident, that both NT and non-NT work just as well on any Garmin unit. Boffins may differ but the older model nuvi's and pukka units in the family haven't grumbled so there must be some truth in this. I had taken a friends laptop to Support and the Technician said something like "Nee, altwee werk dieselfde, Legacy gps ook" or words to that effect.

You'll be able to load the 2011.1 file/s I guess but it's in the Unlock process that installing any version older than the current, was blocked. I believe this still to be the case - no harm in trying; if the map won't unlock then you'll know why. It's a great pity though, and since the Garmap range came to an end with the 2013.2 version, I think that to continue blocking loyal clients from unlocking any version of the Garmap they wish [as long as one can find the files] is grossly unfair; perhaps is a better expression.

What can be at issue and for many, another serious one [remember DEM?], is that Garmin produced up to Garmap 2012.3 I recall, a Topo version. Both 2013.1 and .2 are plain Streetmaps and now I'm not sure that repeating the 'smelly' here, will help.

I've said before that I'll never understand a Marketing Strategy especially when its obviously going to hit loyal [specialist perhaps?] clients below the belt, this is certainly a double-whammy. If the prior-version-blocking policy is still in effect then the only Garmap you can obtain now is the last of the range Streetmaps 2013.2 - as always by download or from a DVD. At least the data supplied up to the 2013.2 originated from our Africa office in Irene.

Henceforth we'll all have to get by with the City Navigator series ... or some other. I'll go find another Topic for this.

Glad to hear from you I wondered what happend to you but thanks for the info I will try it during the weekend and see what happens, thanks to all for advice given, just shows what forum means when you want advice you will get it thanks again.

If you really need Garmap you can still purchase and unlock the latest and final version.
By now City Navigator has overtaken Garmap by at least a year and I see no reason to purchase Garmap ever again.
