Good Morning Jan

Gone but not forgotten
RIP Garmap

So I pulled out my very old Garmin ( 610T ) that had been retired in a drawer and dusted him off.
To discover that time had moved on -- and then stopped ......... ( in 2013 )

He now needs to embark on a new life with an elderly friend.
but
First he needs a new set of clothes

Oh where oh where will he ever be able to find that which no longer exists ? ( the 2013 DVD and the Garmap website )
Much searching only leads to danger and dead ends.
Perhaps perhaps somewhere at the back of another dusty drawer in a shop of bright new units ; forgotten ?
Perhaps proudly stored in a kind persons collection of memorabilia ?
Where ?
What to do ?

Is there anybody out there ?

Good morning
Welcome to the GPS Forum. I have all the DVD's up till 2013.1 in my library. The problem would be getting unlock codes for any maps that has not been unlocked for your specific unit. To copy an send the DVD would be possible to unlock the maps would be the mayor problem.

Hi Jan ,
I have all the DVD's up to 2010 ( NT versions work fine on my old unit )
As I understand one was able to download the DVD ( files on the DVD from Garmap's FTP site which is now no longer )
I am hoping that one of the local outlets might have still have a DVD somewhere amongst all the other old junk ?
I would like to try and obtain the
Last DEM version which I think is 2011.3
Last Topo&Rec which is I think 2012.3
Last StreetMaps which is I think 2013.2

Failing finding an original DVD , finding somewhere to download these would be great
( Leave the rest up to me  )

I would LOVE a new MONTANA ( with new maps ) -- unfortunately the way the cost of living has gone crazy in this country makes this an unlikely dream

Yes those were the final release version. But the Streetmaps final release were only a download version never released on DVD. I spoke to Darryl this morning (he is doing the admin on the server) and he will look at what space is available on the server. We have in the past helped out by uploading a mapset on the server and mailed a one time username and password to the member who required it. The preferred option is to burn and mail you the required DVD Both Darryl and myself has got virtually ever DVD that was ever released from around 2008. I am unfortunately on holiday so it will take some time before I can help with that option. I am currently in the Knysna area. I have The final versions of all three those map sets on my Laptop.

Morning Jan ,
No stress
Enjoy your holiday
Not sure why ? but I hear of a lot of people re-locating to Knysna ( must be the oysters ? )
I have knocked on some buddies in the 4x4 club -- lets see what happens.
Somehow I am sure I will find a solution
