cant install POI loader in windows 10 home

Hi,
I had to install windows 10 on my PC, I am trying to install POI loader but I keep getting an error I need .NET framework 3.5.(NETr2.0 and 3.0 when I install this file I get an error code Ox80240022, I have turned .NET framework 3.5 on in my windows feature it then starts to download the files stops and I get message it could not install the file any suggestions

Wanneer jy opgradeer na Windows 10 toe dan verloor jy baie van jou programme. Wat gebeur is dat hulle al die programme na `n folder Windows.old toe skuif. Die folder sal jy in die Program File (x 86) folder kry.
Soek na die PoiEditor folder daar en en kry die PoiEditor.exe file . Klik op hom om hom oop te maak en kyk of hy nog werk. As die program oopmaak en werk is dit veilig om die hele folder na die Program file (x86) te copy en `n short cut na jou desk top te stuur. Die sisteem bere die files in die Windows.old folder vir ek dink 10 dae voor dit verwyder word as `n backup vir ingeval jy `n rollback will doen

Hi Robert, Phillip. Error code 0x80240022 is an error message that usually pops up when Windows Defender fails to update, which means your computer might have an out-of-date certificate. As we all know, Windows Defender is an anti-spyware by Microsoft integrated in all Windows operating systems.

In order to check for any update in Windows Defender you need to follow the steps which are given below:
1.Click on Windows icon in taskbar, then settings and Windows Update and Security
2.Then click Check for Updates to check for new definitions.

NB.........ensure that auto updates is set to auto, (this is the preferred option) on your pc. To check for this setting, right click on Windows icon in taskbar, click on "Run" tab, and type in services.msc
Once opened, scroll down to Windows Update and note the setting. You can change this setting here as required.

This is the advice from Microsoft regarding the 0x80240022 error

0x80240022 Your PC might have an out-of-date certificate.
Run <<Disk Cleanup>>and delete (at least) Temporary files, Offline webpages and Temporary Internet Files as this will reduce scanning times by security software –clear your cache, cookies, and history, press Ctrl-Shift-Delete – then shut down and restart your computer.
Download any available updates. See Microsoft KB article 924123 for more information.
First, verify that the time, date/year & time-zone are set correctly

Restart your PC and run Windows Update. - Are you receiving the same error ??.
Delete all folders from the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download directory.

Hi Robert, Phillip.
More to this topic. Open C\drive, by clicking on the This PC icon on desktop. At the top of the C\drive icon you'll see a taskbar and then click on "view tab" ....to the right you'll see a box "hidden items", tick on that and this will now open all hidden files and folders. Click the Program Folder and then Garmin. Typically Poi Loader is found here.... "C:\Program Files\Garmin\POI Loader\POILoader.exe". Open Garmin and look if there is a subfolder for Poi Loader, if there is delete all it's contents. Return to Local disc C. Do the same for Program Data Folder. On Local Disc C, click on users, then on your PC name, App Data Folder, Roaming. If you do find a subfolder for POI Loader, delete it's contents. Do the same for the temp folder in C drive. Close all. The reason for the above is to avoid any conflicts with previous installations. Proceed with the POI Loader installation.
Something else to remember is that some Anti Virus Programs like Norton etc. might interfere with program installations, so just disable your virus program temporarily until the installation is completed.
