No download link for updating the Map set Tony. You need to download and install Garmin Express on your computer and use that program to update your maps.
Garmin Express can be downloaded from https://www.garmin.com/en-US/software/express

Re: CN Southern Africa 2019.3 Map Update
Hi Robert,...no it doesn't answer my question, and the unit should not be connected to the pc..... I don't have access to a unit like yours, but the basic functions on the later models I think, are the same.....have a look at the screenshots of my Nuvi 3579.....
This is the main screen when the unit is started. On the main screen you can see the Settings Tab, and when I touch the tab, the All Settings Screen opens, I then touch the Map & Vehicle Tab.... and on this screen I touch the Map Layers Tab..... Finally we come to the last screen, and here you can see that the checkbox for Places Along The Road, is unticked. On my Nuvi, by having this box unticked, the T4A icons doesn't appear on the map screen. I hope this brings a little bit more clarity to what I was trying to explain.
Feel free to upload screenshots of your unit to the forum, for more help on this topic.
Regards.

Re: CN Southern Africa 2019.3 Map Update
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the tips.
I did as suggested and deleted the tracks files from the POI directory.
I am now left with the cyclops sample file and 006-D2668-00.gpi, 006-D2668-00.gma, 006-D2668-00.unl
Put the unit back in the car, drove to the shop and the icons were still there (granted they showed up after about 20 secs). The only thing that happened in those 20 secs, is the unit connected to the car's wi-fi. Not sure if that has an effect?
Got back home and double checked the POI directory. The tracks POI are not there.
Am i missing something?
Oh and the "up-ahead" option in the map layers is unticked

Re: CN Southern Africa 2019.3 Map Update
Hi BF......Phillip...what unit do you have ....do a reset of the unit by long pressing (10secs.) the on/off button while switched on and follow the prompt.....this is normally a requirement to "reset" the unit. Also ensure that the Poi folder (when connected to the pc) does'nt have any remnants of previous installs of T4A's, ie 2019.1, 2019.2 leftovers there. Please remember, that by removing T4A poi's, from your unit, you will no longer be able to use this data. BY REMOVING INTERNAL FILES FROM YOUR UNIT, YOU DO SO ON YOUR OWN ACCOUNT, AND IF SOMETHING DOES GO WRONG, WE CAN'T BE KEPT RESPOSIBLE .

Re: CN Southern Africa 2019.3 Map Update
Hi Phillip,
Update...
I connected the unit (Driveassist 51) and checked the POI directory. No T4A files. However, i then emptied my recycle bin (after kicking myself repeatedly).
Booted up the unit in the car and the big "4" icons are gone. I now have a clean screen.
To be honest, i never used the POI icons. I always felt that icons showing food, lodging, petrol station (which was always only a white flag) was too much clutter. So i would press the map to 2D view and then back to normal 3D view every time i started up. (That removed the icons).
About a year ago i sent a mail to Garmin Europe asking how to remove the icons and their reply to me at the time was - You can't. They are an integral part of the map.
Thanks to your help, i now have a clutter free GPS

HI Robsan I want to download the map directly in this forum, because I can't download the upgrade map from South Africa. The equipment is purchased in other countries.Robsan wrote:Hi Tony

Re: CN Southern Africa 2019.3 Map Update
Hi Philip,
Sorry I am only answering you now, on the unit self you can not remove them here are some screenshots of the garmin 51 LMT-S drive assist. The only to do it is on your computer, I sent an e-mail to tracks4africa and the manager Johann Groenewald answered me saying the only of removing tracks4africa is removing the files on the POI file,
Today I reinstalled the map to see what will happen and the tracks4africa files were back so if you deleted these files just reinstall the map and the files are back on the one screenshot you will see how big the tracks4africa are on my screen.
Regards
Robert
