Hi all,

Not sure if this helps anyone:

My Garmin Express kept hanging when i connected the device. I uninstalled the app completely and did a fresh install with latest version from Garmin.
Device (Drive Assist 51) updated flawlessly.

Perhaps it keeps some files in a registry or cache that were corrupt?

Hi all...uninstalling/installing GE, latest vers. 4 times did not help me at all.....I 've made use of Revo uninstaller app.which, with each uninstall searches for all relevant GE remnants and deletes them......last option for me was, for now, to go to Navworld Strijdompark, to update my Nuvi 3597 with the latest mapset and firmware....very friendly and helpfull staff working there...so I hope that Garmin rectifies the issue with GE before the next map update....will have to wait and see

My Drive assist 51 updated after I used the "install on the PC only" option with the unit plugged in and then the install option.
The Nuvi 52 eventually installed but that was using another process which is complicated and my not work for all.
the best option would be to wait for Garmin to sort out the problem. Hopefully the wait will not be that long.

A email to Mathys was replied to by Thabo with the same contents as posted here before. That reply is the same BS posted on the Garmin Forum and send out by Garmin Europe when you contact them.

Hi Jan,
Ek het met Garmin gekontak en met Roland te doen gehad en alles wat hy se ek moes doen, op die ou einde vra hy ek moet a copy van 'n xml file file stuur sodat hulle ingenieurs daarna kon kyk, hy stuur toe vir my weer /e-pos met hulle antwoord dat hulle ingenieurs is bewus van die fout en werk daar aan, so ons sal moet sien of die volgende opgraderring die probleem sal op los.

Dankie Robert vir die terugvoering. Ja dit lyk of the xml file iets met dit te doen het. Maar die xml is `n produk van files wat reeds op die GPS is. As jy die xml file delete en dan die GPS reboot skep dit `n nuwe xml maar dit los nie die probleem op soos aanbeveel op die Garmin Forum nie. Lyk my ons sal maar geduldig moet wag tot hulle die nodige verandering aan hulle software aan gebring het.
