Morning all,
I am not sure if this is the right forum and I apologise if not...
Google Maps is not saying street names and trying to get help from the Google forum is a nightmare.
I have an Iphone XR with default settings - Language English South Africa, Region SA.
The direction interface is great. But all i get is "turn right". "Turn Left"
I have tried changing the phone language and region to English US, UK but no joy.
It used to work (although that was some versions ago)
I was wondering if anyone else had / was experiencing this issue and is there a way to fix it (or is it just the way it is)

Hi BF, Phillip. This topic isn't really my kettle of fish, but from what I know, there was conflict between Apple and Google a while ago....and whether that issue has been resolved I don't know...
Have you tried the new Apple Maps app. instead ?.... providing you've got iOS 13 on your phone.
Apple Maps gets a lot of flack from its disastrous launch and the fact that Google Maps has been so much better for so long, but Apple’s hoping to change that reputation in iOS 13, which is getting a whole new Maps app.
First impressions are surprisingly good: the new maps have way more data than the old ones; the quick row of favorites icons for home, work, and your favorite stores or restaurants is useful.

Thanks for the quick response.
I am waiting for IOS 13 (not quite ready to install Beta builds on my main phone).
I have heard and read that the New Apple Maps is a major improvement and am looking forward to it, especially with the new CarPlay split screen.
Although the Apple Maps on ios 12 isn't "all bad"
For now, I use Waze, simply because of the traffic and speedo.
This is just a testing phase for me. I have put away my Drive Assist 51 as my car has a 7" Screen - So testing to see if i can go without my Garmin (wife has already indicated she wants mine hehe)
