Garmin Express Updates

Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v6.14.1 for the PC. If you would like to update to the latest version, please visit the About page within the Settings of the Express application and select “Check for Updates to Express.” This version includes the following changes:

We fixed a bug that would prevent users from being able to add their device in Express if they received an error modal, “Could not save Nickname.”
Corrected a screen orientation issue if a right-to-left language was set on the computer.
We have re-implemented the storing of .fit and .tcx files from ANT devices locally on the user’s machine.
Other minor bug fixes and improvements.

Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v6.15.0 for the PC today. If you would like to update to the latest version, please visit the About page within the Settings of the Express application and select “Check for Updates to Express.” This version includes the following changes:

Lengthened the character limit restriction for longer email domains.
Improved messaging for an Express failure when a device does not have sufficient internal memory for a software update only.
Other minor bug fixes and improvements.

Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v6.16.0 for the Mac today. If you would like to update to the latest version, please visit the ‘About Garmin Express’ page from the Garmin Express Menu and select “Check for Updates to Express.” This version includes the following changes:

Improved our map update operation, allowing the map to be copied over to the device more efficiently.
Addressed two crashes that could occur at the launch of Garmin Express or after performing a required update of Garmin Express.

Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v6.17.0 for PC today. If you would like to update to the latest version, please visit the About page within the Settings of the Express application and select “Check for Updates to Express.” This version includes the following changes:

For our Fitness devices, if Express downloads a software update to the device during a sync, the user will get a notification that an update was downloaded and needs to be installed. Previously, the software update would get downloaded, but until it was physically installed, certain features of Express would not work with the device, such as installing CIQ Apps.

We’ve added a hyperlink to the Safety Camera Purchase page. This link will direct the user to a FAQ that displays the coverage area for each region.

Users with new Fitness devices were receiving a sync error due to a missing CIQ Permission within Express. This permission has been added so that these devices no longer receive an error.

Resolved an issue for some users attempting to sign into Garmin Connect. These users would only have a blank page and could not sign in.
Fixed background downloads for map updates, which is set by the user under Schedule Settings.

I sometimes wonder if the tech savvy guys at Garmin know what they are doing. With the previous version (6.19.3) of Express, it took me one hour and ten minutes to download the latest map set to my Pnd…...now there's an updated version of Express, and already there is a problem...and I quote..."I have had a horrible time with this update. It seems to stall a vc_redist and it does not matter if I uninstall and reboot before reinstalling. I simply cannot get it to work. It does not matter what I disable either. I don't have much confidence that Garmin in Europe would help my experience with them in the past is appalling."

IS THERE ANY OTHER FORUMITES HAVING PROBLEMS WITH Express, OR WILL THE REPLIES, AS USUAL STAY UNANSWERED?

Only a few members now and then contribute to the forum..so sad to see this..and this forum used to thrive with activity and contributions, but now, nothing.....
