Not remaining logged in.
Hi all,
If anyone has had the problem that the forum keeps logging them off, don't despair. I was having the problem and was at the point to almost ditching and reloading software. I found out to my disgust that my LTE modem was rolling its external IP literally every minute. After a bit of googling I was able to fix it and connect again to the forum. If this is being experienced, use https://www.whatismyip.com to determine if the external IP is rolling by refreshing the page every 2 to 5 minutes.
Hope this helps.
Darryl
P.S. Don't refresh too often on https://www.whatismyip.com, as a pop-up message will appear that the lookup limit is reached.

Re: Not remaining logged in.
Thanks for the info Darryl.
I use two different routers both on the Vodacom network and sofar did not experienced that problem. However I have a problem that I can not log into the DStv site and one of the two routers using MS Edge. Using FireFox presents no problem to log in. I thought it could be the firewall blocking the sites but it does not make sense that the firewall let FireFox them through.
It must be some setting on MS Edge. None of the suggested solutions I got through Google helped

Re: Not remaining logged in.
Hi Jan,
At one stage I even thought there were problems with the forum and also wanted to reload the software on the hosting server. I was getting desperate and not being able to do maintenance. I am using Telkom LTE and this is where my problem started. I found the solution on the mybroadband forum https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads ... es.952265/.

Hi Darryl, thanks for the info. Strange that the IP Address lookup on this page.....https://www.whatismyip.com/ip-address-lookup/...... shows that I'm in Aliwal North, whilst I reside in Edenvale.

Re: Not remaining logged in.
Running my current IP through that site shown two results Aliwal North and Johannesburg
WE use UTrace on the website. Its is based in Germany. The results for my IP varies form Johannesburg Cape Town Durban and PE. As mentioned in that link of Phillip's the trace result is not that accurate.

If anyone has had the problem that the forum keeps logging them off
A while ago I had the problem that it almost became impossible to rename a file or folder. I would be kick out halve way through the process. Also searching through Documents I would be kicked back up to the top of the files at regular intervals when scrolling down the list.
It was obvious to me that some refresh process was causing the problem and I eventually found that my desk top background slide show interval was the culprit. I have some 160 odd photos in a folder which I use for the background slide show and the interval was to the lowest value available. Changing that to 30 minutes interval solved the problem.

Hi all,
Don't worry. Sometimes I am located in Soweto. Other times in Johannesburg and other times in wherever Firefox feels like.
