Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula has announced the opening of the Machadodorp interchange, thanks to two years’ work and R400-million expenditure.
With perhaps thousands of roads that need urgent attention in Mzansi, and Fikile Mbalula can attest to that, one wonders what makes the one in Machadodorp special? As confirmed by TRAC, the project was laid and executed after increased traffic growth between Emakhazeni and the Montrose Intersection close to Mbombela. Increase in traffic volumes saw the need to construct the interchange that offers a safer entry/exit point to and from Machadodorp and the R36.
