#5685

Post by Phillip Coetser »

For information,
For those who might be travelling to and from Durban, be aware, that you can expect some delays on the N3 in KZN soon.
Sanral has announced that traffic on the N3 can now be diverted onto the newly constructed carriageway between Cato Ridge Interchange and Camperdown Interchange. The switchover shall be done at night commencing from 17:00 on Thursday, November 9, until 05:00 on Friday, November 10.
The speed limit along the route has been reduced to 80 km/hr to improve safety for the construction team and road users. The Southbound traffic shall continue using the lanes currently used.
The target date for switching the southbound traffic to contraflow between Camperdown Interchange and Cato Ridge Interchange is 11 December.
It is expected that contraflow conditions shall prevail until January 2025.

Hi all,

On a recent trip to Durban mid December for work, I can vouch for the road conditions. All I can say at this stage is that it's an organised mess. So anyone having planned to travel down and didn't research road conditions, was in for a nasty surprise that caused an extra one and half hours onto the existing travel time.
