Thanks Erich. I've got a new 2595 in a sealed box in front of me. Must register it at "garmin.com"
Not at "garmap.co.za". Glad about the free updates, but nothing is for free. Cost me R300 more.
Just another thing: The Nuvi 2595 doesn't work with Garmap maps on the sd cart. Make sure about
the other units!!! On the other hand, i am going to miss my Topo maps on this new unit.
Units: Nuvi 500, GPSMap 62s, Nuvi 3790LT, Nuvi 2595LT, Nuvi 3590LT, Caska.

John, I'm running CN with SSA on my 3590 without a problem. I believe there should be no reason why your 2595 couldn't run the same.

Hi Hennie: One of the tech chaps in Honeydew told me that Topo maps got problems. I am willing to pay that R1299 for my
Topo maps if i am 100% sure its going to work on my sd.
Thanks

There should be a "Try before you buy" system at that price, like a "test drive on a car".
I wonder if its possible ? I suppose anything is possible !

I'm inclined to agree with Joe there. When it comes to the price of the map and the uncertainty of whether it will work on a 3590, make it possible for the prospective buyer to download a tile of a familiar area (around home) for testing purposes on a "try before you buy" basis. Obviously, unscrupulous individuals will try to download the whole mapset that way and they can be automatically blocked based on their locality/IP address/ISP/(blood group)/etc. or the supplier can issue a timed trial key for 7 days. Myriads of possibilities.

Which begs another question, would Garmin SA have thought it through to occasionally browse these pages to pick up on what's happening and see if the ideas that come forth are worthwhile investigating?

Agree. My 2595 got the same problem as my 3790, the old story of "trips" and "routes"
