I received a warning from an interested part via email and then checked on the web but could not find too much. But does anyone know anything about firmware updates for the GPSMap 62 prevent 3rf party maps from working?
I hate to be spreading rumours but I would not doubt that Garmin would be capable of and implement this. Does anyone here know anymore? Has anyone had their 3rd party mapping broken by a firmware update.
Its something to be mindful of. If it is true we can only hope that the 3rd party mappers find a way of overcoming it. Or someone finds a way to downgrade the firmware.
Does anyone here know anything?

Trevor, I doubt if this could be true. I'm running various CN and SSA on my 3590 (all selected at the same time) without the one 'eating' the other. It could be that this is secific to yur GPSr only.
