Garmin Communicator and IE 11

Since the latest upgrade of Windows 10, the November security upgrade, Garmin Communicator does not load on my computer when I switch to IE 11 to upload the gpi files.

I found a way to get Fire Fox to work again with Garmin Communicator. If any one experience the same difficulty in uploading the gpi files and there is a demand for it I will make the procedure available in pdf format for downloading.

If you experirnce any probleems please lett us know.

Hi Guys, Phillip. I'm having some problems with Firefox, ie. black screen when opening web pages, stalling, where mouse pointer doesn't move, etc., and Firefox must be closed and reopened every time and this is very annoying . So, at this stage, I'm using IE 11, and so far I don't have the same problem, as with Firefox. Coming back to the topic discussion, I, for now, will use IE until such a time that the IT people at Mozilla Firefox sort their problems out. This is my opinion, but yes Jan, as you mentioned, for those who want to use Firefox, they should ask for the PDF, and follow the instructions to download the RHD.

The procedure is not complicated it basically need you to download and install the 32bit windows version on the Firefox Extended Support Release for https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/o ... tions/all/
It need to be the 32Bit Windows version and theb there is a simple procedure to chnge a line in the config file to allow Garmin Communicator tp be loaded.

Retief I will upload the full pdf. My apology for the quality of the screenshots included in the write-up. I got this from a blogg somewhere and unfortunately the screenshots are a bit blurry. I will see if I can make better screenshots at some stage.

I don't know why Communicator stopped loading on IE11 on my laptop. Still used it at the beginning of November. The only reason is that Windows 10 installed a security update for Adobe Flash Player KB 40489511 or The cumulative update for Windows 10 ver 1790 KB4048955 on 15 November, in my opinion it may the Flash Player that is causing the problem.

I found the setting that changed, somehow, that prevented me form uploading the RHD .gpi files from IE11. It even may have been on the laptop form the beginning but the change due to the adobe security upgrade of 15 November prevented Garmin Communicator being load when you switch to IE11 form edge.
