Has anybody on this forum tried the convertion from 37XX to 34XX? I'm keen to have mine converted but are to scared and there a lot of Greek in the procedure foe me.

Hi Swannie!

I am seriously looking at it but am just upgrading all my Win7 PC's to Win 8.

Couple of reasons why I want to it:
1) because somebody has already,
2) because I still have screen issues when it is a certain weather/temp,
3) The Garmin Mechanic for Smart Phones is not supported on the 3790 but is on the 3490 ,
4) etc.

I have worked through the "instructions" and done the prelims - I must just go and sit down and do it.

DaSilva seems to have looked at it as I see his presence on that upgrade pages and he did warn that one must be careful... I am always careful - well, most of the time!

and Worst case I will buy a 3490 just to have a reference to work against and either (nave to) keep it or resell it again!

I've never done this mod.
I bought a real 3490 LMT when it went on special. (I really like the free maps for life idea.)
I've played a bit with Japanese firmware on a 1300, Was disaponted with the results and flashed it back to EU/US.

Ek het 'n offer wat ek nie kom nee voor sê nie op die 3790 en dit toe laat gaan en is nou permanent op my 3590.

Pad na die hel is gepavlei met goeie voornemens! :(

Sterkte - daai 3790 is 'n op sy kop eenheid - geniet dit!

Dit lyk dan maar asof ek gaan stick by die 3790, Die ding leer my nou in elk geval bietjie Engels praat met die Voice Command en anders het ek nie probleme nie.

Snaaks genoeg, nou die aand toe trigger die Timbacore advertensie op 567 die Voice Command - Ek het nog nooit gebodder om dit te grbruik nie maar - wys dit werk!
